Dear fellow investors, guys and gals, friends and family.

We’re living in a historic moment. The world has collectively decided to put the ecomony to a standstill, to potentially save hundreds of thousands of lives.

The question is how long we’ll be able to sustain the lockdown. How many companies will have to go out of business before we start to see riots on the streets? Continue reading “Portfolio update March 2020”

Dear fellow investors, guys and gals, friends and family.

This is my first portfolio update written from southern Europe. Yes, we have officially moved to Portugal.

Selling most of our stuff including 2 cars have freed up a good amount of money, which is waiting to be invested. Maybe it’s time to put some into the stock market?

If you’re interested in more details about our journey, I’m working on a post-series called “Moving to Portugal for Financial Freedom”. Part 1 will be out soon 🙂

So how did my portfolio perform in February? I’m glad you asked, I prepared a nice overview for you. Continue reading “Portfolio update February 2020”

First month of 2020 has passed and it’s time for another update.

January was a hetic month.

  • We arranged a “name giving party” for our 7 month baby with 30 family members.
  • A birthday-/”fare well” party was held for our oldest daughter’s 25 class mates.
  • We took hundreds of pictures of our belongings and listed them for sale on Facebook Marketplace. More than 60 people came to our house throughout the month to buy something.

(We are only bringing 2 x 20 kg suitcases and 4 x handluggage on the plane to Portugal, thus, we need to get rid of almost everything we own.)

And if that wasn’t enough…

To all my readers and followers. Happy New Year everyone!

It’s time to wrap up the year and see how my portfolio performed in the last month of 2019.

But before we continue I’d like everyone to take a chill-pill. I get way too many emails and messages from people who are worried by the slightest hickup.

Crowdlending platforms are high-risk investments! If you’re not prepared for some rollercoaster action you should probably invest in something else.

Yes, I follow the sector closely. Yes, I visit platforms, engage with the community etc. In fact, I do everything I can to be the guy who has the most insights into the Baltic crowdlending industry. But in the end, please keep in mind;

I’m just a private investor, just like you. Continue reading “Portfolio update December 2019”

Dear friends, family and financial freedom seekers from all over the world.

October was quite a month… I quit my day-job!

Since I have 3 months notice, my last day will be January 31st. However, I’m on paternity leave until January 2nd and I have more than 5 weeks of vacation left, so I might not come back at all.

Why quit now? Well, since I reached my first goal of 3 000€ per month back in July, I started looking at my options. As my good friend Mark described this blog post I could retrire in Portugal and live a pretty good life already, since costs of living are lower than in Denmark.

So, in October we spent 14 days in Portugal in this wonderful house to try to get a feeling for the country. If you’re new to AirBnB you can get up to 40€ off your first booking through this link.

We really enjoyed the country and it wasn’t hard to imagine us living there. So why not give a shot now that we have the chance?!

Here are the numbers that makes it all possible!
